Starting off 2013...

So life as newlyweds is pretty darn awesome. Brandon is the best husband a girl could ever ask for. Here's a little sampling of what we've been up to so far in 2013...

For Christmas, Brandon  I mean Santa, gave us season 1 and 2 of the TV show 24. I had never seen it and Brandon is a huge fan. All I can say is it SUPER intense! And definitely addictive.

While I watched, I got so nervous that I had to do something to keep myself occupied haha. Pathetic I know. So I decided to learn how to make paper flowers- a long desired skill of mine. Pretty cute right?

On this past Friday, Brandon sent me the following text message: "By the way my lovely, would I be able to interest you in going to see a motion picture this evening, the 18th of January in the year 2013? Which just so happens to be our 5 month anniversary? Maybe we splurge with The Hobbit?" I know. Cutest husband ever. :) So we got some oh-so-tasty Panda Express and headed over to the movie theater to see the latest Middle Earth adventure.

We also had a fun attempt to be hip, posh Utahns and went to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City. It seemed a bit too much hype all in all:
0 celebrities seen
0 degrees outside walking around
0 possibility of seeing a movie
$20 parking

However, we made the most of our adventure! We had a fun time with our friends Jared & Kara and found a restaurant with everything free on the menu! So I tried my first veggie burger- yes we really were that hip!

Even though it was SO freakin cold, I did convince Brandon to pose by the Park City Moose with me... :)

And! We also enjoy our fair share of games around our little home. We recently played a rousing game of scrabble while listening to the Piano Guys. Nerdy? Yes. Fabulous? Of course!  Being the wife of Mr. Chlarson is clearly full of the high life. :)

It's the Holiday Season: First Holidays as Mr. & Mrs.

Brandon & I had a WONDERFUL holiday season together spread out between Colorado & Utah. I LOVED having a husband to celebrate Christmas & New Year's with. :) Our first Christmas together was one to remember!
Here's a copy of our 2012 Christmas card (many thanks to Caitlin Sheffer -our engagement & bridal photographer- who gave us this cute card design for free. LOVE that girl!)

So for our first Christmas together, we decided to head to Denver to be with my family this year and spend New Year's with Brandon's family. I love this picture of the two of us on Christmas Day in front of the tree. :) Before Christmas though, we actually were apart for about 5 days when Brandon staid in Utah to work for a few days and I flew home to spend time with family. So when we were finally reunited, we were SO happy!

While we were apart- my Dad treated us Priday gals to a show in downtown Denver, a personal favorite: White Christmas! Even though it was pretty different from the movie, it was a fun night downtown with my sisters and mom.

The next day, I was so excited to be in town for my nephew, Xander's, preschool Christmas program. He did such a great job. I was one proud aunt!

What a handsome and smart 5 year old!

Fast forward to Christmas Eve- Brandon has this festive Christmas sweater that he made complete with lights, jingle bells, and santas on it. So I decided to dress to match him complete with huge snowman earrings and a giant bow from the 90s I used to wear when I was little. We looked pretty darn awesome if I do say so ourselves.

Due to some health problems, my Dad actually had to spend Christmas Eve and Day in the hospital so we traveled to him to have our Christmas Eve pageant. I was a wise man and 2 year old Spenc was a a little shepherd- so darling.

A little Christmas music is a necessity. :)

haha I LOVE this picture of my brother in law Justin yawning behind Spencer who led the music. haha it looks like Justin is taking a bite out of Spencer!

haha I love this little boy!

The whole fam minus Alison & Dad.

Can he get any cuter?

Christmas Eve isn't complete without the 3 little nephews wrestling Uncle John in their new pajamas.

Christmas Day was fun seeing the little nephews open all their gifts!

Oh my dear- such a goofball! Love him!

After Christmas, we enjoyed spending time with my family. Brandon & Spencer did a few duets...

Brandon admired his stocking as the newest member of the family....

Little boys brought all joy and happiness with their ridiculous cuteness...

We took sappy pictures by the fireside....

AND Brandon became the villain when Xander, I mean Batman, and Ashton, I mean Superman, attacked! :)

Finally, after a fun-filled week- Brandon & I headed home to Provo and I was so surprised to see that Santa had found the Chlarsons both in Denver AND in Provo! :)

Such a thoughtful husband! I love this boy!

We came back to FRIGID weather in Utah- I'm talking 0-10 degrees! We have a GIANT icicle of death outside our door as evidence. :)

Sadly I didn't take any pictures from an awesome and hilarious New Year's with the Chlarsons but we had such a fun time with them up in Sandy. Merry Christmas & a Happy 2013 from the Chlarsons! We are so grateful for the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ and this time to focus on Him. Thank you to so many wonderful family and friends that made 2012 such a memorable and fabulous year!
