Even though life has been miserably cold here in Utah the last few weeks (blast you Utah inversion!) and Brandon and I are so busy and low on sleep, I was thinking today just how much we have to be grateful for! I decided it was time to electronically take note of some of things we love and are grateful for right now.
#1 BRANDON GOT ACCEPTED INTO AMERICAN UNIVERSITY!!!!
It's true! My smarty-pants of a hubby got his first letter of acceptance to one fabulous law school! It's international law program is ranked 6th in the nation! Brandon is so gifted in the French tongue (see #4 below), that international law could be a great fit for him. We don't know for sure if we're going to go there yet, but it's a great option for sure! We definitely celebrated with some Zoupas when we got the news! (gotta love me some Nuts About Berries Salad and Ultimate Grilled Cheese!)
#2 The new movie, The Impossible, blew our minds, made us cry, and changed our lives: (no joke here people)
Brandon & I both heard amazing things about this movie and took me to see it on Saturday. It's about a true family's survival during the tsunami that hit East Asia in 2004. I don't think I have ever been affected by a movie as much as I was by this film. If you haven't seen it, I HIGHLY recommend it. Seriously, totally changed me- as cheesy as that sounds.
#3 Nieces & Nephews that fill our hearts with joy!
Brandon and I love being an uncle and aunt. These recent pictures of my nephews, Ashton (3 this week!), Xander (5), and Spencer (almost 3) and Brandon's nieces Mariah (just turned 3), and Lacey (almost 1) show just how cute these 5 little kids are. And we're so excited that both my sisters are expecting! So, my sister Celeste will have a girl in March and my sister Alison a boy in May. SO happy!
#4 I Love My Husband. And all the little things he does for me:
So, Brandon is fluent in French. And I LOVE hearing him speak French but I wish I could at least understand him and maybe even communicate back if possible! I asked him a while ago if he would teach me and got a little white board for him to help me out. And he has delivered! I love my French word of the day and Brandon's help!
Also, Brandon took me on a fabulous date to Color Me Mine last week (a place where you take basic pottery and paint them however you like). And he painted a bowl for me and I painted one for him. Brandon's bowl for me turned out SO cute! Complete with polka dots (my weakness!) I attempted to make a jazz bowl for him. Such a wonderful man. :)
#5 Family & the Gospel
We are so blessed to be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Brandon and I have enjoyed serving in our ward- me in Young Women's and Brandon in the Elders Quorum. I love this video about Jesus Christ and His power to heal us from every sorrow or pain.
SO grateful for my family and especially this boy of mine. He is my best friend and never ceases to make me laugh. Best decision of my life came when I married him almost 6 months ago. While I'm busy learning how to be a brand new teacher, he never stops helping me around the house: doing the dishes every night (he's quite the professional dish washer), cleaning off my car at 6am (a job everyone wants, said no one ever), and helping me with cooking and laundry and everything in between (seriously, what a champ!). Clearly, we have lots to be grateful for. :)
